Share Your Preserved Foods Potluck January 27

Join us for our first potluck of 2013 at The Birdhouse from 6pm-8pm. With winter upon us, the theme for this potluck is “sharing your preserved local foods”, so bring a dish made with a canned, frozen, dried or otherwise preserved local food.

As always, if you don’t have time to bring a dish, bring $5 to donate. And remember to bring your own place setting and beverage.

Our guest speaker will be Fiona McAnally, who will speak on heirloom seeds and historic aspects of seed saving in and around Knoxville, TN. McAnally is a graduate student at the University of Tennessee. She was a manager for UT’s farmer’s market and has recently received a position as statewide coordinator for Tennessee’s food policy council.
