“Menu for the Future” Reading and Discussion Group every Thursday evening in March.

March 7, 14, 21, 28 (7-9pm)- “Menu for the Future” reading and discussion group led by Laura Smith; a collection of essays from the Northwest Earth Institute exploring the connection between food and sustainability. Essay contributors include Wendell Berry, Frances Moore Lappé, Barbara Kingsolver, Michael Pollan, and more.

We will explore food systems and their impacts on culture, society and ecological systems and gain insight into agricultural and individual practices that promote personal and ecological well-being while considering your role in creating or supporting sustainable food systems.

Classes on the 7th, 21st and 28th will be at Cafe 4′s upstairs library. Class on the 14th will be at the Gigmark offices next to River Sports at Volunteer Landing.

Cost: $25 for members, $30 for non-members and includes the price of your book. Scholarships are available if you are experiencing a financial hardship and would like to participate. Limited spaces available! Email to sign-up and make arrangements to get your book or to request a scholarship.
